Instant replay in Wirecast turns the last moments of your program into a Replay shot you can take live. Once Replay is running, Wirecast keeps a rolling buffer on disk, and the Create Replay Shot button saves the last 30 seconds by default. Replay is part of the Sports Production Tools in Wirecast Pro.
How to set up instant replay in Wirecast
- Select Replay+ISO > Configure, or click the Replay+ISO Settings button.
- Check Program Replay.
- Check Audio to capture audio in the replay.
- Set Video Quality to Standard or High. Wirecast shows an estimate of the write rate.
- Click Browse next to Folder and choose where Wirecast stores replay files.
- (Optional) Choose keyboard shortcuts for Create Replay, Update Replay and Mark Replay. Click Manage to edit hotkeys in Preferences.
- Click OK.
How do I create and play a replay shot?
- Select Replay+ISO > Start All. Wirecast shows the Replay controls next to the transition controls and the Go button.
- When a play happens, click Create Replay Shot. Wirecast adds a Replay shot to Layer 1.
- (Optional) Select the Replay shot and move the In Point and Out Point in the Preview Area to trim it.
- Select the Replay shot and click Go to put it on air.
Replay tips
- Click Set Replay Mark In at the start of a play to control where the replay begins.
- Use Update Replay Shot to refresh your first Replay shot instead of adding a new shot each time.
- For a branded replay, add a Replay Shot to a layer, add graphics in the Shot Editor, then select it as the Replay Shot Template in Replay Settings.
- You can set ISO sources as replay sources, for example a camera that isn’t on air.
- Replay increases CPU usage and writes to disk constantly, so use a fast SSD.
- Wirecast doesn’t render several replay clips from the same replay session when they play at the same time on different layers.
